As part of my work for the 2014 Girls of the Con calendar I was lucky enough to work with a now world famous designer to showcase this amazing dress he’d created for his friend, Model JJ Cirrus. I was living in the Jackson Building on the Historic Downtown square in Gainesville, Georgia at the time. We brought Makeup artist Salena in and dress designer Anthony Canney, of “The House of Canney” came to my loft with JJ to get her ready for the shoot. From there we drove to Hosch Theater at Brenau University, put the finishing touches on the outfit while standing in the parking lot (it was sweltering hot that day) and did our photo shoot. Anthony later went on to design the dress for Season 7 winner of Rupauls Drag Race for Violet Chachki. His dress work is acclaimed world wide and this is one of his lesser known creations that he made specifically for JJ to model. I was lucky to work with him all those years ago. What an amazing talent they both are. I revisited these images years later and found that my editing prowess had grown so I decided to give the raw photos a new life. And here they are.
