Recently I took a trip to Polaris, Montana to stay with friends and family for a few days. While there I took advantage of the fact that we were in an area with zero light pollution, crystal clear cold nights (-24 at one point), and views for miles. The snow on the ground and the white aspen trees were amazing for light painting so I captured a few views of the sky as it really is. The Milky way can be seen stretching out above Maverick Mountain and the Grasshopper inn, or Orion shining brightly against rolling hills and juniper bushes frozen in a winter dreamscape. The night is poetic in Montana, and this is my love song to it.
